What You'll Do: As a Temporary Membership Assistant, you will assist with processing daily workflow tasks for new business, non-renew and reinstatements. You will review and update policy systems, billing and member accounts to reflect correct membership information. You will also serve as a customer service representative by answering phone calls and collecting dues payments over the phone to make sure payments are applied to member accounts appropriately. As a Temporary Membership Assistant, you must always keep a service-oriented attitude by maintaining professional and productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, state federation staff and others.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree and/or 1+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Must have excellent problem solving, analytical and research skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are required, including strong verbal communication and business professional writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills are required to quickly learn our multiple systems.
  • Must know or be able to attain knowledge regarding company and state membership guidelines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities to organize and process work with limited supervision under tight deadlines is required. This includes strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Must be able to work 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday (45-minute lunch) from our office in West Des Moines, IA.
