What You'll Do: As a Property General Adjuster, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle assigned claims involving large property, farm owners, personal and commercial lines of insurance. You will investigate the cause of the loss, interpret the policy, determine coverage, subrogation, reserve values and determine the value of the loss. In this role, it is very important to have a strong knowledge of insurance and tort law relating to property claims and expert use of Xactimate estimating software. As a Property General Adjuster, you must keep a service-oriented attitude at all times by maintaining professional and productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, claimants, policyholders, engineers, restoration specialists, general contractors, attorneys, and others.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • College degree or equivalent plus at five years relevant experience required. Must have in-depth property claims handling experience including interpersonal and technical skills. AIC, CPCU, LPCS and/or PCLS designations preferred.
  • Xactimate 28 - Level 1 & 2 certifications.
  • Must keep up-to-date regarding legislation, statutes, rules and regulations in your primary state.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to work under all kinds of weather conditions and fully appraise all physical aspects of the property and buildings, which includes climbing on ladders.
  • Occasional travel with overnight stays are possible.
  • A valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records are required.
  • Analytical, problem solving, organizational and excellent communication skills required.
  • Work from your home office and the field, with the ability to travel throughout the state of Minnesota.
