IT Business Relationship Consultant

The IT Business Relationship Consultant position will help manage the P&C Portfolio, as well as other support additional Business/IT relationships in our Information Technology Business Management Department. This role is an extension of the IT Director role by gathering business priorities and maintaining the strategic business portfolio. The successful candidate would be expected to work at the macro and micro levels with projects, performing differing roles depending on the situation presented to them. This could include, but is not limited to: chartering projects, managing a project or strategic initiative, performing business analysis, overseeing and/or performing the quality assurance tasks, overseeing and/or delivering training to the business or IT, and managing and helping to resolve issues. The position will act as a liaison between the business and IT on strategic initiatives and projects and partner with VPs and IT Directors in gathering and reporting project and portfolio information, and presenting it to Sr. Management.

What it takes to join our team:

• College degree or equivalent plus five years relevant experience required.
• Must be familiar with products, services, and strategies in the insurance and financial sectors.
• Must possess excellent leadership, oral and written communication, planning, decision making, and negotiation skills.
• Must be results oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous situations and manage expectations.
• Must be able to build strong relationships with the Business and IT.
• Experience in business analyst frameworks, digital implementations, processes and tools preferred.
• Proven ability to negotiate for competing resources and to generate consensus among multiple interrelated priority projects.
• Must have the aptitude to learn both business and technical terms and processes well enough to be a strong liaison between IT and the Business.
